The Frog Blog

Dave took the kids frog-hunting on Saturday. (Apparently, we have a resident bull snake whose favorite main course is frog-legs). They found a great mud puddle up the south fork of Hunter Creek. After capturing five reddish brown frogs and five tadpoles in our sand bucket, Annalie was in charge of babysitting the new additions on the ride home. Unfortunately one of them decided to venture out on his own in our Jeep and hid under the seat. After a searching for awhile, he was recaptured and the rest of the drive home was without incident. We had a family "pond-warming" once they arrived home. With great fanfare, Annalie plunked them into the water. I'm not quite sure whether the adults decided to stick around or not--we haven't seen or heard them since. Perhaps the snake had a "pond-warming" ceremony of his own...

Having Fun At The Beach?

This may be the last photo posting for a little while. Laurie was taking these pictures of the kids today and Jason knocked her over -- getting sand in the camera. Guess we need to check out ebay for another Kodak....Annalie kindly offered us the use of her pink pre-school Kidizoom camera in the interim. If the blog photos aren't as clear, you'll know why!

A Bicycle Built For Two....

We are very grateful for Jason's new "Adam's Trail-A-Bike"!

Salem Riverfront Carousel

We always like to stop where we know there is a carousel as the kids love riding them. Many times a parent of a special needs child rides free since the child must be accompanied. As you can see by Jason's face, this is one thing he loves doing!

Agate Coffee Table

Our latest home project is finished! After eight years of planning, we now have a beautiful piece of furniture to display our polished beach agates, petrified wood, and other interesting rocks. We noticed that people love to look through (and touch) our collection, so we chose to make a coffee table that opens (the rocks are between two layers of glass) and includes display lights.

Our Newest Addition

Welcome to our very first blog posting. We are still in the process of learning the "ins and outs" of blogging, but here it goes! Annalie is now the proud "Mama" of a blue-point himalayan and excited to have a room-mate. The kitten is named Cecily Car"mew", after the character Cecily Cardew from the play "The Importance of Being Earnest". Laurie has wanted one of these cats for many years as some were a part of her family life as a young adult. As you can see she is a pretty cat and is happy to be a part of our family. This page is still under construction. Thanks for your patience!
